TIPA World Award 2024 for ultraHD sharpening for black and white prints

The international expert jury of the TIPA World Awards has once again honored WhiteWall, the premium photo lab, with this year’s selections. After the double award in 2023, WhiteWall can look forward to yet another award this year. 

In the "Best Photo Lab" category, WhiteWall impressed the jury with its ultraHD sharpening for black and white prints. This state-of-the-art technology ensures exceptional detail and perfect results on three Ilford photo papers. UltraHD sharpening brings every detail and nuance of monochrome subjects to life.  

This is the seventh time in the company's history that WhiteWall has received a TIPA World Award. After 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2023, this year's award is once again: "Best Photo Lab"! 

The TIPA World Awards are presented annually by the members of the Technical Image Press Association, consisting of a large selection of international editors of renowned photo magazines and websites to the best photo and imaging products. They are regarded as the most important awards in the photo industry worldwide.

Using this award-winning technology and a new, state-of-the-art imagesetter, WhiteWall now offers ultraHD black and white prints. UltraHD sharpening on three Ilford photo papers - PE photo paper with a glossy or matte surface, as well as real baryta prints - impresses with an unprecedented level of clarity and precision. Every detail and nuance of monochrome subjects is brought to life. The new function can be activated in the product configuration under the "WhiteWall ultraHD sharpening" option.

The TIPA jury justified its decision as follows: 

WhiteWall is expanding its extensive range of gallery-quality photo finishing products with ultraHD sharpening for black and white prints. This sharpening option, often under- or unused as a final step before printing, is available for three Ilford photo papers - glossy, matte and true baryta - and brings every detail and nuance of black and white images to life. Each image sharpening level is precisely matched to the output process used in combination with the increased production resolution. This guarantee results that maintain and improve tonal range and detail and are absolutely free of color casts. Customized formats up to 240x122cm are available with numerous options for finishing, framing and hanging.
