WhiteWall wins the TIPA World Award 2025

WhiteWall wins another TIPA World Award: Second time in the category "Best Photo Frame Design" – now with a total of eight TIPA World Awards!

The international jury of the TIPA World Awards has once again honored WhiteWall this year. Following the 2023 award for the Design Edition by Studio Besau Marguerre, WhiteWall has now won the 2025 award in the category "Best Photo Frame Design" for the "Basel 6 mm" frame. Presented annually by the Technical Image Press Association, the TIPA World Awards recognize the best photo and imaging products and are considered among the most prestigious honors in the photography world.

With the new "Basel 6 mm" frame, WhiteWall introduces a refined, minimalist solution for art and photography lovers. Its slim and elegant profile offers a modern frame design that draws full attention to the image. Available in eight different variants, the frame adapts to various interior styles. The WhiteWall 3D configurator provides a photorealistic preview during the order process.

This marks the eighth time WhiteWall has received a TIPA World Award — after 2013, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024. The company is once again honored for outstanding design and quality.

"Minimalist framing is a growing trend in the art and photography scene. With the new 6 mm version of the Basel frame, we’re responding to this demand by offering the perfect blend of subtle elegance and modernity," says Alexander Nieswandt, founder and CEO of WhiteWall.

The WhiteWall bestseller Basel is now available in an even more refined version: The new, ultra-slim 6 mm profile offers a stylish way to present photographs and artworks. Thanks to custom handcrafting to your exact dimensions, the original aspect ratio is preserved—no cropping necessary. This elegant frame is perfect for everything from fine art and photo prints to premium mountings on alu-dibond or behind acrylic glass. For sizes up to 25 cm in height, the frame is also ideal for tabletop display.

Key Features at a Glance:

  • New, elegant frame profile with just 6 mm width

  • Available in eight stylish variants

  • 4 mm gap between image and frame

  • Minimum size: 15 × 15 cm | Maximum size: 180 × 120 cm

“The TIPA World Award is once again a testament to our commitment to top gallery quality and innovative design. With the Basel 6 mm frame, we’ve created a solution that meets the highest demands of today’s photography and art scene,” says Thomas Alscheid, Managing Director of WhiteWall.

The TIPA jury explains their decision as follows:

“When preparing images for presentation, thoughtful framing plays a key role in enhancing their impact and visual appeal. WhiteWall has expanded its popular Basel shadow gap frame series with a new option: a slim, elegant wooden frame with a width of just 6 mm – available in various finishes, including white or black wood grain.

In the Basel shadow gap frame, the image is set slightly recessed within the frame, creating a subtle space between the artwork and the edges. This generates a striking visual contrast and draws the viewer’s eye into the composition.

WhiteWall offers prints on various surfaces – including canvas, aluminum, acrylic glass, or ChromaLuxe. Formats and materials can be easily selected via the online configurator, with the finished work delivered straight to your home or studio.”
